Bible Reading...
I'm just about caught up now. An excerpt from Hebrews that really jumped out at me...

10For our earthly fathers disciplined us for a few years, doing the best they knew how. But God's discipline is always right and good for us because it means we will share in his holiness. 11No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening--it is painful! But afterward there will be a quiet harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way. (Heb 12:10-12)

most of u guys know that i'm not on the greatest terms w/my dad. there's all this underlying tension there. i think a lot of it is on my part, b/c he sucks as a husband and isn't the greatest dad in the world... my sinful heart just wants him to change... to be a christian too... but at the same time.. i know christian dads that have probs w/their christian sons... maybe it's the whole korean/asian dad thing... where u show ur love thru silence and without spending time w/the family.. haha... i dunno... anyways.. so this passage... our earthly fathers, meaning imperfect fathers, raised us/disciplined us the best they knew how... how can i blame my dad? he did the best he knew how... he's imperfect. was i the perfect son? no. i do believe at times that i am better than my dad... especially when something comes up, and i think i'm right. jeez... i just have to win. terrible. so when is this change of heart towards my dad gonna happen? i dunno... sooner the better. all i know is that i have no reason to be bitter towards my dad. i think i'm straying off topic just a bit... but just to end... this is a process... in verse 12 it says, "...But afterward there will be a quiet harvest of right living for those who are TRAINED in this way." We are definitely not born to be perfect fathers nor perfect sons, but God promises to discipline/raise us the right way, so that, "we will share in his holiness."

lemme know if i'm being heretical or if my analysis is completely off. have a good weekend folks.
