Friday... so after work i went out to dinner with my family to celebrate my grandfather's bday. i'm not sure exactly how old he is... hmm... early 70's i think. so what was kinda interesting was that my "gomoh" (aunt) invited this girl to our dinner. the girl was the daughter of my aunt's friend, and apparently, she invited her out in order to introduce me to her. so info about this girl.. she's a fob, studying fashion design at the academy of art in sf. she's 25 (y'all know how i like older or at least more mature girls.. haha)... so anyways... i noticed she had a ring on her 'marriage' finger... so i dismissed any preconceived notions as to whether or not my aunt was trying to hook me up. i guess i'll talk to my aunt on thursday and find out more then. so ur wondering if i liked the girl? well... she was kinda tall (didn't see her heels tho so not sure how tall).. but she could've been 5'5"... but overall.. she was pretty cute, i think it was more of her mannerisms... u know.. like the shy korean girl type... she had a nice smile too... i haven't thought about her much... so anyways.. i was talking to my mom last night.. and she was like.. i think "gomoh" was trying to introduce u to that girl! and i was like... she's kinda tall.. haha... and my mom said.. u need to marry a tall girl! kinda off tangent... so now i've met a fashion design student... i now have an interior design student friend... so hmm... what's next? maybe i'm gonna meet a supermodel "in-training"! haha... =P
Saturday.. i woke up early to take my written and physical test for Alameda. while i was taking the written.. i was thinking... "i am so freakin sick of this testing process. i need to hurry up and get my paperwork in so that i can get hired"... i definitely need to ask God for more patience and to trust in His timing of things. b/c who knows how many more tests i'm gonna have to take before i get hired... maybe He doesn't want me to become a cop... *sigh*... no worries. the test was pretty easy, but the physical was kinda crazy. they brought us out onto the old naval base in alameda, and we were out on the tarmac, which is right on the bay. let's just say... we were freezing. there were four events: trigger pull, dummy drag, short pursuit, and long pursuit. the first two were cake. but the last two... crazy.. they made us put on these belts that had two metal blocks attached to them, to simulate what officers have to wear. so these things were at least 10lbs.. and my oh my, what a difference 10lbs makes. i started running... and i was like.. why the heck am i getting so tired? and why the heck is it so hard for me to climb over these walls? anyways.. if u wanna see my bruises the metal blocks gave me while i was running, lemme know. So saturday night.. i was like.. i'm gonna stay home and finish my paperwork. yea.. i stayed home.. and played 5hrs of Grand Theft Auto:Vice City. what a waste.. haha. i ended up taking the disc out and put it in my backpack so i can give it back to sang. no more freakin video games when i have better stuff to do. i've neglected my bible readings the entire weekend... it didn't even dawn on me that i should be praying... jeez... and looking back.. man.. i honestly feel like i need to pray, i want to pray, and that i should've prayed. about what? everything...
Sunday... church was pretty good. Pastor Ting spoke.. and he's more of a professor type. he can analyze a verse like no other, but it ends up sounding like more of a lecture than a sermon. which is still cool. after church i went to berkeley and i ended up at library on campus with charles n jen. it actually felt really good being back at the library. just walking on campus again. so anyways... PRAISE GOD! i got about 99% of my background packet done at the library. i still haven't been able to get a hold of my first ex's contact info, but i guess i have till thursday. After finishing up the paperwork.. i went out to dinner w/sung. man.. it was really good just chillin and talking to him. i should really enjoy these times, b/c hopefully if he does well in school... he'll be back in korea next year. not that i want to see him go, but he definitely wants to go. and Charles, dude... sung even brought up how he doesn't like it when he gets out of control... but will him acknowledging his problem change anything when he goes out to drink again? hmm... probably not... i think he needs a girl that will steer him clear of that stuff.
