==================================

After i got home from work yesterday.. a family from my home church was at my house. so anyways.. the husband was all talking to me.. well, more like lecturing to me... why do all korean men do that? he was talking about how i need to come back and teach the kids at the home church... how korean-american's should speak korean, because if we lose our language, then we're gonna become like japanese americans and lose our culture and the korean american church will diminish in america... all this stuff... i'll address the latter first.

my take on ko-am's speaking korean. if they can, great. more power to u. yes, culture is tied in w/language... but we're not living in korea. if the person doesn't realize how important the motherland language is to them... then it's their loss or gain. for me, i'm glad i speak it. and just because ppl can't speak korean doesn't mean that they're spiritually at a disadvantage. i don't think he was taking this route... but if there were no more ko-am churches in america.. then fine. i think that's just the evolutionary process for the ko-am church. the 2nd generation isn't stable enough to start their own English only church. Korean churches in America can survive.. but it's rare for strictly English only ko-am churches to survive. The english ministries need the financial support of the 1st generations. i definitely think that eventually... English only ko-am churches will begin to spring up in about 15-20yrs. (what i mean by english only is that the services provided are only in english). what'll happen to the korean speaking churches? they'll definitely stick around... our parents need to go somewhere right? so why aren't there any japanese churches? hmm.. their religion is mainly shinto right? compared to korea being catholic and protestant.

so the former was about me coming back to my home church to teach the kids... b/c i apparently have a love for the kids... or at least a need to teach them the right way. hmm... i don't think i'm a qualified teacher. i praise God for providing me the knowledge to teach for about 1.5yrs now.. and giving me a love for the kids. i have thought about leaving kcpc after this school year to serve at my home church... but dude... my home church sucks. everything i've learned has come from kcpc. there's no accountability, bible study, or EM pastor at my home church. it's no wonder that once the kids grow up, they leave the church, b/c there's no one really there to teach them. it's a church for our parents. it's not a church for the kids. a few things going thru my head is that... i'm never gonna find a wife if i go back to my home church. HAHA... well.. the Lord provides... i gotta trust in Him daily. another thought is that i want to take a break from teaching... so that i can really be a part of the EM worship service... another thought is that with me leaving kcpc children's staff... they will only have 1 local teacher. so when the other teachers go on winter/summer break... he'll be all by himself w/the 30 or so kids. crazy. but then again... the Lord provides. i still have until summer to really make up my mind... so no real rush i guess.

sorry.. this is a long entry... but i have nothing better to do... hehe...

The End of 2003... a lot has happened in this calendar year. but the most significant thing for me, was that i officially joined the work force and hated it. haha... but God completely changed my heart and attitude by giving me a hope, that He would deliver me from this place. This was definitely answered prayer. do i have any New Year's Resolutions? not really... why wait for the new year to make resolutions? why not just do it? shows how weak man is.
