Weekend in Review
Saturday-Sunday: i was in Bodega Bay at a young adult (yag) retreat. i love being in that environment. the calming of the ocean... slightly overcast.. cool breeze... just beautiful. so there weren't as many yag'ers as i expected, but i'd say that it turned out well... it was a more intimate retreat. got to know some ppl better... one thing that dawned upon me at the retreat regarded work. now that i've quit my job.. and will be moving onto (hopefully) bigger and better things... i'm definitely happy, but at the same time.. i'm not thoroughly satisfied, or atleast not as happy/satisfied as i thought i'd be. i know the reason is b/c work can never truly fulfill me... it's only Christ that can. but praise God for his faithfulness and for bringing me closer to Him thru the past year and 4 months.
so moving on... one of the activities was an "iron-chef" competition btwn 2 teams of 1 guy + 1 girl team. the main ingredient? SPAM. yea.. i love spam too! but dude... spam in practically everything? that was way too freakin much. haha. so this is what our team made.. angel hair pasta w/spam, twice baked potatoes topped w/bacon & spam, bland fried chicken (no spam), spam tapas, can't remember the rest. anyways... i just made the spam tapas. nicole cut up really thin pieces of spam... and i fried them until they were like chips. very nice. then i made a potato/garlic/onion mix that was placed on the spam chip. to me.. it ended up tasting like.. spam. that thing can overpower any taste. haha..
Sunday: i drove back down from the retreat alone to go teach at my home church. then after service at kcpc.. ate pho w/a friend. wow.. that seriously hit the spot. never enjoyed pho so much. afterwards i went back home so that i could go apprentice at the sushi place... but the guy told me to come back next week, when they weren't so busy (in light of father's day). so i just chilled at home.. watched the bourne identity.
Monday: Yes Monday is still the weekend. i'm not working like u. haha.. i woke up at 6am today to go play golf w/my dad. played 9-holes at a nearby course. i played pretty crappy. only had one bogey and the rest were doubles/triples/etc. but i had a good time playing w/my dad. afterwards... he even helped me w/my putting game, my sandwedge, and driver. after golf.. i took my parents out to breakfast. it's been a pretty good weekend.
