what were u expecting?

i saw my friend neil tonight. he was mugged last week. 3 guys beat him over the head w/a 2x4. he's 54yo. the nurses wouldn't say if he was in an induced coma or heavily sedated.. either way.. he looked pretty bad. i'll save u guys the visuals.

please continue to pray for this brother, that God would grant a miraculous recovery if that would bring Him the most glory. please also pray for the Spirit to comfort Neil's family and to open up their hearts for Him.

i want to say that God isn't done working through neil.. therefore... he can't leave yet... but did Jim Elliot (?) think that God was done working thru him when he sent him to missions? probably not... he probably thought God was just beginning to really work thru him... and then what... he was killed at the beginning of his trip... my point in all this is that... before tonight.. i was always sure that my life wouldn't come to an end, b/c i knew that God wasn't done working through me... but now i don't think i can be as certain. His thoughts are above our thoughts. We can only figure out so much... but God created the big picture... for me to trust that I won't die anytime soon is foolish. i'm not completely trusting in God's sovereignty. God will work through good situations and bad situations to bring glory to Himself, even if we can't comprehend what's going on right now or in our lifetime.
