what were u expecting?

i was talking to suma today... and it was a humbling conversation... some of the excerpts go like this, "Sam, I can't believe how superficial you are!", "you're so arrogant!"... we were discussing attraction to the opposite sex and how my standards are too high. she thinks that i put personality way too low on my scale.. but it's only partly true... if u weren't physically attracted to someone.. why would u get to know them in a 'potential' type of way? i do acknowledge that there are plenty of times when friends w/o deep attraction become attraced to each other due to their personalities clicking so well. but what's wrong with wanting someone with a captivating personality and beatiful looks? take Proverbs 5:18-19.

true, beauty goes beyond the skin, but that beauty isn't seen until u get to know that person more and more. personality is extremely important to me... just not as important in the beginning. for instance.. let's say a girl has an annoying quality like complaining about everything in her life. her looks will only mask that annoying quality for so long*. i think this goes for every person. now everyone has different thresholds for what is annoying and what's beautiful. of course this also works the other way as well.. a good personality will cover up the lack of beauty, but only until a certain point.

anyways... to end this post.. i will admit that i am superficial, picky, arrogant, and prideful..
