thanks to paul for a freakin crazy time today. the weather sucked pretty bad, but we still tore up the roads...
i got to paul's place around 9:15am or so... then i helped him rotate the tires on my car... (thanks mang!)... then we went off to meet the SF s2k folks. met up w/them.. and then drove down a bit to meet up w/the south bay s2k group. so at our peak... we had about 25 cars for our drive down to santa cruz. about 20 s2000's, 2 M3's, and 3 NSX's. man... we were all tearin up the twisties... at one point in the mountains, paul was pullin about 95mph. crazy. i had a huge grin on my face.
unfortunately.. ppl dropped out due to weather and other crap. one guy in his NSX blew out his tire... and another guy in an S2K took a turn too hard and his rear skid into the guard rail... yea.. in the end there were about 10 of us left. met a bunch of cool guys. learned what "heel-toe" actually meant from Paul. rode in an NSX... so dang low, powerful, and solid. i loved it when ppl would point and just stare at all the cars whizzing by. one guy was nuts.. driving top down in the rain, holding a video camera in one hand filming everyone else. nuts.
saw some other crazy things too... one old guy pulled up next to us while we were chillin at a rest stop. this guy is like 60-70yo.. pulls out a beer... and says he can take any of us in his car. haha... and then we walk over to his car... and find out it's an STi. but not just an STi.. he took out the backseats for weight savings, had ventilated discs, brembos.. 18 or 19" BBS rims... jeez.. who knows what else he had under the hood.. on a day like today.. i'm sure he would've taken us all out w/his awd, except for maybe the M3 and the NSX.
